Crag of Campo Staffi
It's a pleasant summer sport climbing spot, East faced, at almost 1840 meters above the sea level.
The routes are short, of low/medium difficulties, through excellent limestone with buckets and water erosion pockets, equipped with very close bolts.
The space under the routes it's a wide clearing, slightly downhill. Just a few hundred meters, you can see (easily accessible) a small conifer woods and a beech forest.
Thus it's a climbing spot ideal for families with children and for beginners.
Winter ascent of Mount Viglio (2156)
In winter, instead, the zone offers a classic winter ascent (ice ax and crampons are needed): the normal rout up Mount Viglio (2156 m). The Mount Viglio is the highest peak of the Simbruini Mountains Park.
The start point is the Pass named "Valico di Serra Sant’Antonio" (1608m ). From there is a total elevation gain of almost 700 meters on ice and snow, with max difficulties reaching PD-.
