Info

Rifugio Viperella is a meeting place that organizes mountain activities at any time of year.

The venue is very close to the road, and to the parking spot of Campo Staffi. In fact it's not a ski cabin, but the starting and meeting point for many sports, leisure, and cultural activities.

It offers several beds, also in separate buildings right next to the venue, and two small spaces (reserved to its members), one of which is enclosed, with some places, for eating meals.

The membership fee to benefit from the services is very small: almost 3 euros per year.

Among the activities proposed are hiking, climbing, mountain bike, orienteering, trekking, survival courses, drift trike, snowscoot, snowbike, snowboard, skiing, snowshoeing, freeride, archery, cultural events, tasting of local products, cooking classes… and meetings with children regarding the raptors, with the hawk Lola, mascot of the hut, as a special guest…

The cuisine

The cuisine is one of the strong points of Rifugio Viperella.

It serves always seasonal dishes. Thus the menù vary according to the seasonal products.

Anyway, meats are always present: there are many kinds of beef, both local and foreign, served on a lave stone and many other specialties.

The cuisine is traditional but reinvented.

The landlord Mauro, in charge of the service,  says jokingly that he is slow, but he does everything to make people smile.

Lola the mascot

The mascot (and the symbol) of the hut is Lola, a Harris hawk.
