The Fonno della Botte climbing guide is now available on ClimbAdvisor. This is a new, small and charming climbing area located near Soriano nel Cimino, in the Lazio region of central Italy.
The crags are situated at the foot of Monte Cimino, on the outer edge of the ancient Monte Cimino Beech Forest, a UNESCO Natural World Heritage site. The shady and fairy-tale-like environment makes them particularly suitable for summer climbing.
The routes are well protected and offer enjoyable technical climbing on slabs and featured limestone walls. Grades range from 5c to 8a, with a few projects still awaiting a first free ascent. Thanks to the shade and altitude, Fonno della Botte is an ideal destination for climbers seeking a day immersed in nature and relief from the summer heat.
The guide has been prepared by Adriano Quatrini and Valerio Gabrielli, who equipped most of the routes and restored and rebolted the existing ones. Like all ClimbAdvisor guides, the Fonno della Botte guide includes route overlays, a georeferenced approach description, and allows users to launch their navigation app both to the parking area and directly to the crags.
The guide is available free of charge to all users who have already purchased the Tuscia package, which also includes Bagnaia and Ripa Majala.
