The Falcioni

climbing guide, covering one of the landmark crags of the Gola della Rossa area (Marche, Italy), has received a major update.

One of the finest and most popular crags in the Gola della Rossa, Falcioni is an ideal destination during spring and autumn and, with the right timing, also offers good climbing conditions throughout the summer. With only a handful of exceptions, the routes are mostly in the low to mid grades. This is the main reason why the "La Sibilla" Mountaineering School decided to completely rebolt this historic crag with modern glue-in anchors.

The recently completed rebolting work has involved every sector of the crag. Numerous routes have been corrected, others have been extended, and several new climbs have been added, all following a modern approach to route development.

Lorenzo Rossetti has surveyed and documented all these changes in version 1.1 of the Falcioni guide, now available on ClimbAdvisor.

During the project, a small abandoned sector originally equipped in the 1980s by Francesco Burattini was also cleaned and restored. The sector, named L'Albergo, lies next to the well-known Central Pillar sector.

On busy days it provides additional climbing opportunities for parties looking for routes with a more traditional character, featuring slab, chimney and dihedral climbing. With this update, these routes are now included in the guide as well.

As always, the guide includes not only the complete route list, but also photographic route overlays, GPS coordinates for the access, detailed maps, and the ability to launch your preferred navigation app with a single tap.

The update is free for everyone who has already purchased the guide.

How to update the guide

o install version 1.1:

• open the Falcioni guide in the ClimbAdvisor app;
• tap the Menu button in the top-right corner;
• select Restore/Update.

The guide will automatically be updated to version 1.1, while keeping all previously purchased content.
