Luca Girgenti was born in Palermo on April 25, 1990. Since he was eight, he has belonged to the Scout Movement, within which he developed his spirit of adventure and acquired outdoor technical skills.

He started to climb just after his scientific high school diploma, in April 2008, with Alessandro Scimonelli. After about two years he met Luigi Cutietta, one of the most active mountaineers of Palermo and became his rope partners in many adventures. 

In 2015, he has become Instructor of that school.  In August Agosto 2016 he traveled by bike in the Alps, climbing solo his first 10 peaks over 4000 m, in the mountain groups of the Monte Bianco, Gran Paradiso, Monte Rosa… Now he is a student at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, and he balances his studies with a multitude of activities, passions, occupations and interests.
