Born in Trieste in 1962, he's a nature guide. He has gone to the Dolomites since he was a child.
At the age of 17, he started to climb in Val Rosandra, the historical crag of Trieste.
At the age of 22, he began practicing winter mountaineering, ski mountaineering and winter ice climbing.
At the age of 26, he began mountain climbing and took part in his first expedition.
Such complete alpin training, interested both to the history and to the innovations, has led him to the mountains.
He has experienced first-hand the transition from the historical to the modern mountaineering, climbing with all the greatest mountaineers of Trieste, as Giorgio Ramani and Mauro Bole.
As he's keenly interested in the history of the ascents, he prefers wide-ranging mountaineering to the sport climbing.
So he climbs mainly in the mountains groups of the entire Alpine range, doing some first ascents too.
During the cold cool season, he often practices ski mountaineering, one of his favorite activities.
Due to his incessant wandering through the European mountains, he is well acquainted with Alps and Apennines territory.
He had been volunteer in the National Alpine Rescue and Speleology Corps (C.N.S.A.S.) of Trieste for 15 years.
At now he has carried out almost 2500 ascents in Europe, America, and Africa.
